Financial E-Mail Marketing Alliance October, 2001— Financial institutions will have greater opportunity to use professionally created and managed e-mail marketing through a marketing alliance between WordCom and ClickRSVP, two leading marketing firms serving the industry. Under the terms of the agreement just announced, ClickRSVP will provide e-mail marketing services and consulting to WordCom's national client base. The two firms are also developing direct marketing programs that integrate both postal mail and e-mail. "E-mail is evolving as an important and effective contact point for financial institutions. However, there are many facets involved that require expertise. ClickRSVP's experience and resources will help us bring this new technology to our clients," according to George Wachtel, WordCom chairman and CEO. ClickRSVP was founded by Ray Parenteau in 1999 as a spin-off of Data Direction, a developer of marketing databases for financial and real estate firms. The firm has developed a proprietary e-marketing application that supports e-mail messaging, as well as web response and direct mail programs. "We know that marketing with e-mail will continue to grow. But we also know that it is best used as part of an integrated strategy that includes direct mail, the web, and other touch points. WordCom's experience and creativity in those areas will be an asset to ClickRSVP and its clients," said Mr. Parenteau.
